Newhart is a sitcom about Dick Loudon (Bob Newhart), an author who moves from New York City to a small town in rural Vermont to run an inn. Dick and his wife Joanna (Mary Frann) move to operate the historic Stratford Inn, and had no clue what they were in for. Loudon is a mild mannered normal guy, but the rest of the town are oddballs who continually baffle him. Loudon also becomes host of a local television talk show, which brings more crazy people into the mix.
