Neverending Story

The NeverEnding Story is an animated fantasy series developed for HBO, based on the Michael Ende book series of the same name, which follows Bastian Balthazar Bux, a shy bookworm of a boy who becomes an active player in the world of a book called The NeverEnding Story. Unlike in the real world where Bastian is relatively ignored by his family and is bullied by his classmates, in Fantasia he is the only one capable of fixing the realm of the Childlike Empress, a wise young looking leader who seems to have more faith in Bastian’s capabilities than he does himself. When the Black Giants are sent to threaten Fantasia at the hands of the evil sorceress Xayide, Bastian joins forces with his friends, the flying Luck Dragon Falkor, the forever-arguing husband and wife gnome pair Engywook and Urgl, and a walking tree troll called BarkTroll.
