Neuro is the Viz Media animated series that is based on the manga series Majin Tantei Nogami Neuro by Yusei Matsui. The popular manga series has sold over 3 million copies, and the series is produced by the famed animation studio Madhouse. The story follows Neuro Nogami, a demon that lives in the human world, feeding on criminal mysteries. He lives off eating mysteries and puzzles, absorbing the negative energy from their planned crimes. He already ate every mystery in his world, so now he is taking to the human world to sustain himself. To keep his identity secret, he partners with a 16-year-old girl named Yako, to help her solve her own mystery as well as keep him a mystery to humankind. The crime-fighting duo devours mystery after mystery, but they attract the attention of a criminal known only as X. Neuro and Yako take on everything from murders to bombings, taking out criminals while ultimately searching for an answer to the mysterious death of Yako's father.
