National Geographic: Surviving West Point Description
National Geographic: Surviving West Point is the documentary series that takes a look inside the prestigious Cadet Training Program at West Point Military Academy. The United States Military Academy at West Point is the oldest of the five US service academies, established in 1802. Candidates usually have to get nominated by a congressmen, and it is highly competitive to be one of the 1,300 entering the Academy each year. With only about 1,000 graduating, not everyone can take the pressure. The Cadet Training program turns young men and women into the disciplined soldiers that America needs through intense training and schooling. The cadets are put through a broad academic program, leadership training, and competitive athletics, and they are held to a strict Cadet Honor Code. Now we step inside West Point with these new cadets as they start their experience at the academy.
