Nanny and the Professor is the ABC sitcom that follows the lives of single father Professor Harold Everett (Richard Long), his children Hal (David Doremus), Butch (Trent Lehman) and Prudence (Kim Richards), and their magical British Nanny Phoebe Figalilly (Juliet Mills). Just as the Everett family has the need for a Nanny, Phoebe mysteriously appears on their doorstep. Figalilly appears to be psychic, having flashes of the future and knowing things before they happen, and the children believe she was more than human, after finding a photo of Phoebe that looked a hundred years old. It becomes apparent that she is no ordinary Nanny, and she wins them over, becoming a surrogate mother to the three kids. When she uses her psychic abilities, there is even a musical jingling sound that shows something magical is at work.
