Mystery Science Theater 3000

Mystery Science Theater 3000 was a comedy series that was broadcast on channels such as Comedy Central and the Sci Fi Channel, and is now distributed by Shout! Factory. The show revolved around a man – series creator Joel Hodgson – and his robot sidekicks Crow and Servo watching humorously bad B-movies and providing sarcastic running commentary. The group of wisecrackers, whose silhouettes were shown at the bottom of the screen, were supposedly trapped aboard a space station and forced to watch the films by an evil scientist. Although the majority of the films shown were science fiction B-movies, training and educational films were also presented for the peanut gallery to ridicule Over time, the show's clever wit and comedic timing helped it generate a cult following, which aided the show in securing two Emmy nominations and a Peabody Award in 1993.
