My Name is Earl is a television series originally airing on NBC about Earl J. Hickey (Jason Lee), a small-time crook who decides to make right with the world when he wins the lottery, and along for the ride are his brother Randy (Ethan Suplee) and ex-wife Joy (Jaime Pressly). Earl adjusts his life outlook when he wins and then loses a lottery ticket for $100,000 when a car hits him. In the hospital, he hears about karma on television and decides he has to do good things to receive good karma, including correcting every bad thing he's ever done in his life, so he makes a list of them. After his first good deed, he finds his lottery ticket and takes it as a sign that he should use the money to continue with his list. Earl and Randy, who isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed, own a motel together, and the attractive housekeeper Catalina (Nadine Velasquez) elicits Joy’s disdain, likely out of jealousy, even though she is married to Earl’s ex-best friend Darnell (Eddie Steeples). Earl, along with the collection of interesting characters in his life, overcomes challenges as he slowly makes his way through his list to prove that he has only the best of intentions. The show is currently in syndication on TBS.MORE
