My Life as Liz is a show on MTV following Liz Lee, a Texas teenager who isn't quite like her peers. The show is one of the first to admit that it takes on a "quasi-reality" approach, with editing and camera work typical of a reality show, but with a heightened dramatization of actual events in the characters lives. Liz feels different from the other people in her hometown of Burleson, TX, but is proud to be a self-proclaimed nerd and her voiceover on the show reveals her witty and sarcastic personality. Her friends Sully, Cameron, and Troy are similarly minded, but her rival Cori Cooper tries to make Liz' high school experience as unpleasant as possible. Cori's friend Taylor doesn't obey Cori's rule that no one can be friends with both of them, and becomes one of Liz' friends as well. In addition to high school politics, Liz copes with her crush on her friend Bryson, her parents, and where she's going to college. Just as Liz finds her place in Burleson, it might be time for her to leave.MORE
