My Favorite Martian

My Favorite Martian is a CBS sitcom starring Bill Bixby as Tim O’Hara, a newspaper reporter who befriends a lost Martian stranded on Earth. Ray Walston plays the Martian, who assumes the name Uncle Martin for his time on our planet. Uncle Martin is an anthropologist and an inventor, with a brilliant mind and several peculiar powers. In an effort not to alert other humans to his alien past, he only reveals his powers to Tim. Uncle Martin looks like a human, talks like a human, and learns to live like a human. Tim finds him after his spaceship crash lands near Los Angeles. Uncle Martin is left without transport on a foreign planet. It’s only through his new friendship with Tim that he’s able to survive among humans at all. The series follows the trials and tribulations of Uncle Martin as he attempts to blend in with human society, making friends and trying to stay out of trouble. He has many useful Martian powers, such as the ability to become invisible, communicate telepathically, and talk to animals. He has to be careful when and how he uses these gifts. If the public finds out he’s a Martian, there’s no telling what humans will do to him. My Favorite Martian is a classic family series that aired from 1963 to 1966. MORE
