Mr. Sunshine

In Mr. Sunshine, a comedy from ABC, Friends alum Matthew Perry stars as Ben Donovan, the manager of the Sunshine Center, a second-rate sports arena in San Diego, California. After enduring his 40th birthday, mid-life seems to be the smallest of his various crises. Ben's boss, Crystal Cohen (played by the magnificent Allison Janney) is prone to throwing the workplace in new, far-flung directions on the slightest whim, and Roman Cohen (Nate Torrence), the boss's son, is a grossly incompetent but well-meaning nepotism hire. Alice, (Andrea Anders) the Sunshine Center's marketing director, is Ben's friend-with-benefits, but what was once simple is spiraling quickly towards "it's complicated," as Alice has also developed a special relationship with Alonzo (James Lesure), the center's resident former athlete. Meanwhile, Ben's assistant, Heather (Portia Doubleday) is a serial arsonist one match away from losing her self-control. And that's all without even mentioning the workplace crises themselves, as everything from the literal to the metaphorical circus comes to the Sunshine Center. MORE
