Mobile Suit Gundam

Mobile Suit Gundam is a Japanese anime series originally aired from 1979 to 1980. Set in the Universal Century year 0079, Mobile Suit Gundam surrounds a war of independence between the planet the Earth Federation and the Principality of Zeon. Zeon is smaller than the Earth Federation, but has the significant war advantage do to their mobile suit weapons. The war unfortunately wipes out over half of all the human race. The series begins with an Earth Federation warship known as the White Base secretly meeting to retrieve their newest weapon. Zeon knows of the plot and attacks. Most of the fleet is killed, but a young boy named Amuro Ray finds the new weapon which is a mobile suit of Earth's own and takes out the Zeon soldiers. In the scuffle, the White Base picks up all the survivors they can and escapes into the galaxy. The rest of the series focuses on the inhabitants of the White Base and their ongoing struggle with the aggressors of the Principality of Zeon. MORE
