Miami Ink is a reality television show about a tattoo parlor in Miami Beach, Florida, owned by artists Ami James and Chris Nunez, and featuring the other artists who work in the shop- Chris Garver, Darren Brass, Tim Hendricks, Yoji Harada, and Kat Von D. The shop is called 305 Ink, after the Miami area code, and is later changed to Love Hate Tattoo. The show chronicles the clients who come into the shop and the stories behind the tattoos they are there to get, from funny to heartwarming and everything in between. It also follows the artists’ personal lives and the occasional drama that can occur between them. Kat Von D, perhaps the most famous face from the show, worked at 305 to replace Darren when he broke his arm and stayed for the next two seasons, but later moved to LA to open her own tattoo shop, High Voltage tattoo, which became the subject of Miami Ink’s spinoff, LA Ink.MORE
