McHale's Navy

McHale's Navy is the classic TV show that follows Lieutenant Commander Quinton McHale (Ernest Borgnine), as he commands the WWII U.S. Navy PT boat-73, and the memorable cast of his oddball crew including Captain Wallace Burton Binghamton (Joe Flynn) and McHale's second-in-command Charles "Chuck" Parker (Tim Conway). The crew of the PT boat is stationed in the Southwest Pacific, on the island of Taratupa. The rogue crew is one of the best fighting crews, but often break regulations in the pursuit of money and pleasure. The naive and bumbling Chuck is straight-laced and by the books, but the crew doesn't respect his orders. Binghamton is a frustrated commander known as "Old Leadbottom" to the crew, who and is determined to rid himself of McHale and his crew, and dreams of sending them to prison. The crew was later reassigned to Italy, where the crew continued their antics in the coastal city of Voltagiore. The show has become a classic, leading to 3 McHale's Navy movie adaptations, with McHale's Navy in 1964 and McHale's Navy Joins the Air Foce in 1965, and the 1997 remake starring Tom Arnold as McHale's son.
