Maurice Sendak’s Little Bear is an animated children’s TV series based on the Little Bear series by Maurice Sendak, the author of Where the Wild Things Are, focusing on a small grizzly cub named Little Bear, an animal equivalent to a six-year-old boy. Little Bear lives in a stucco, timber, plaster, and brick house with his parents, Mother and Father Bear. A kind and inquisitive little bear, he often is out exploring with his other animal friends, including the laid back and lazy Cat, a mischievous monkey named Mitzi, the pompous but wise Owl, comical Duck, and Emily, a seven-year-old human girl who likes to be in charge because she’s the oldest. Maurice Sendak’s Little Bear is a thoughtful and playful series that often has these younger animals dealing with human problems through the sensible eyes of a small child. Each episode offers a little adventure, a bit of fun, and a whole lot of imagination.MORE
