Marvin the Tap-Dancing Horse is an animated children's TV series developed by Nelvana based on Michael and Betty Paraskevas's book, Maggie and the Ferocious Beast, that focuses on Eddy, a nine-year-old boy who takes up a job working for the Flyover Land's Carnival as a gofer to the owner, Fast-Talking Jack. When he discovers that the animals can talk, Eddy begins to discover just how human-like those animals could be. He makes friends with the dancing horse Marvin, the grouchy Stripes the Tiger who enjoys reading the newspaper, Elizabeth the Emotional Pig who has a talent with juggling pineapples, Diamonds the Elephant whose balancing act on a beach ball is the star of the show, and the penguin-filled band, the Penguin's Five. Enjoying his new summer job, Eddy tries to keep the carnival from going out of business as the sleazy owner of the competing circus, Lyman Slime, tries to sabotage every show, by doing the best that he can and by keeping all the animals in the best moods Ð a hard thing to do, especially with the exceptionally emotional Elizabeth and a diva Diamonds.MORE
