M.A.N.T.I.S.

M.A.N.T.I.S. is a science fiction TV series developed by Sam Raimi and Sam Hamm for FOX that centers on Dr. Miles Hawkins (Carl Lumbly), a wealthy and brilliant scientist whose life turned upside down when a bullet paralyzes him from the waist down He had been trying to save a little kid when the stray bullet caught him in the spine. Left in a wheelchair, Hawkins puts his brain to the test as he develops a type of suit, an exoskeleton that brings him back into what his life had been like before. That is, if his old life entailed super strength, agility, and speed. Spurned on by the act that put him in the wheelchair, he uses the identity M.A.N.T.I.S. (Mechanically Automated NeuroTransmitter Interactive System) in order to fight crime and take on the likes of Solomon Box (Andrew J. Robinson), a black hearted industrialist. He is helped by his old friend John Stonebrake (Roger Rees) to deal with the upkeep the M.A.N.T.I.S. requires and to come up with a few new things as well as the bike courier Taylor Savidge (Christopher Gartin), whose adrenaline junkie ways to just loves to tag along on the fighting sprees. M.A.N.T.I.S. may be helping the city but there are more than few who would rather see Hawkins step down from his new day job. MORE
