Madventures

Madventures is a travel documentary that originally aired on the Finnish television channel "Sub" in Oct. 2002. It features two carefree and fearless backpackers named Riku and Tunna, and takes them to some of the most remote, and most famous places all around the globe. Riku Rantala is the series writer/producer while Tuomas "Tunna" Milonoff directs and films. While it seems more of a low-budget and small crew travel show focusing on shock value comedy, it still maintains its educational aspect. Be warned though, this isn't your average travel show. The show includes a section called "MadCook" in which these two travelers attempt to eat local foods that are widely viewed as disgusting or taboo in modern culture, and it often includes other "Jackass" style comedy, such as scenes where Tunna will mess with Riku while he is sleeping. The series is on its third season and is now airing on the Travel Channel in the United States. The first two seasons aired in Finland and were in Finnish. All three seasons are available on DVD. MORE
