Madeline is an animated children's series on the Disney Channel that follows the adventures of Madeline and her friends at their boarding school in Paris, France. The show is based on the popular Madeline books by author Ludwig Bemelmans. Madeline is a mischievous but warm-hearted little girl who lives with eleven other girls, their teacher Miss Clavel, and the beloved house dog, Genevieve. Though Madeline is the smallest of the twelve girls, she certainly has the biggest personality, and she always knows how to turn a dreary day into an exciting adventure. Armed with bright red hair and an endearing smile, Madeline often gets into trouble for her curiosity and vivid imagination. She befriends the neighbor, Pepito, who is the son of the Spanish ambassador. Madeline and initially dislikes Pepito for his bad behavior and calls him the "Bad Hat," but eventually she realizes he is lonely and she and the girls become his friends.
