Lost Tapes

Lost Tapes is a horror/thriller mockumentary series from Animal Planet that explores fictional footage that was found of cryptozoological creatures, or creatures considered to be legendary or mythical. The show is shot in a documentary style, a first-person account of a group of characters that usually encounter or get attacked by a mythical creature. The show’s unique feature is that it rarely reveals the full figure of the creature, relying instead on brief glimpses to give the show a mysterious and creepy quality. Between the scenes of the mockumentary, there is a segment called Lost Tapes: Revelations that presents facts of the creature or the myth. Some of the creatures profiled by Lost Tapes include Bigfoot, el Chupacabra, the Jersey Devil, Skinwalkers, dragons, demons, werewolves, and aliens. The show proclaims that it is "inspired by the possibility that hidden creatures exist" and never states that the footage is intended to be true footage.
