Life in Cold Blood is a unique and detailed documentary about cold-blooded creatures such as the thousands of types of reptiles and amphibians. This nature documentary embraced advanced new techniques such as thermal imaging and camera probes that had not been previously used in the study of cold-blooded creatures. Written by David Attenborough, Life in Cold Blood documents the progression of reptiles, their living habits, and survival techniques. This documentary shed a new light on view of the the anti-social, slow-moving, cold blooded creatures of our planet. In conjunction with Animal Planet, Life in Cold Blood aired on BBC One in February of 2008. Each episode ends with a short ten minute look into the studies, scientists and filming tactics used to produce the show. The ten-minute segments were created by Open University and James Brickell. Attenborough's series won a specialty television award in 2009 and was the final chapter in his major studies. He was 81 when the episodes began to air on BBC One.MORE
