Las Vegas is a tv show on NBC that follows the surveillance team for fictional Montecito Casino in Las Vegas, as they maintain security of a large resort and casino and handle other working environment issues. The show kicks off with ex-CIA officer Ed Deline (James Caan) and his promotion from Head of Security to President of Operations of the Montecito, and thus giving him a much wider range of responsibility. Taking his place as Head of Security is former Head Valet Mike Cannon (James Lesure), whose keen mind comes in handy during investigations thanks to an engineering degree from MIT. Ed’s protégé and surrogate son, former Marine Danny McCoy, works as his apprentice, and Delinda Delina (Molly Sims), Ed’s daughter with wife Jillian (Cheryl Ladd), is the Entertainment and Food and Beverage Manager, and she and Danny have a complicated romantic history. Samantha Jane “Sam” Marquez is the hardworking business woman who is the Host of the Montecito, lives in a suite in the resort, and works to bring high rollers in to the casino. Other employees at the Montecito include Special events director Mary Connell (Nikki Cox), head pit boss Nessa Holt (Marsha Thompson), and owner A.J. Cooper (Tom Selleck). The show chronicles the business dealings of a Las Vegas casino and resort, and delves into the personal lives of its employees, with their own families and amongst each other.
