Kojak 2004 is a modern television revamp of the classic Telly Savalas crime series from the USA Network. In the original series, hardboiled detective Kojak was a nattily attired peace officer who strutted about like the cock of the walk. He seldom went by the book, but he watched over and protected the innocent. He was slick, smart, and had a great heart. Now it's 2004 and there's a new version of Kojak starring Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction, The People Under the Stairs, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, Baby Boy, Mission: Impossible) as the titular rouge. It is superb. The character is still a sharp dressing prince of the city. He still doesn't do everything by the book and he still protects the innocent. Bobby Crocker is back. Frank MacNeil is back.
