Kanamemo is a comedic Japanese manga series adapted to television in 2009 by Rika Nakase. The original manga is a four-panel comic strip written by Shoko Iwami. Kanamemo follows a young, orphaned girl named Kana Nakamichi (Aki Toyosaki). When Kana was a little girl, she lost her mother and father. Until recently, she lived with her grandmother, but sadly, she too passed away. With no one to support her, the timid and reserved Kana applies for a job at a local newspaper distributor - the Fuhshin Gazette. The episodes follow Kana during her daily tasks at the job as well as her encounters with the outside world. She learns she is quite unlike everyone else, who are all generally very charismatic and confident individuals. To date, there are thirteen episodes available for watch on the Crunchyroll network. If you are an avid fan of anime or Japanese manga, Kanamemo is a series you want to get in to as it is not too often you find a female protagonist at the center of a manga.MORE
