Justice: What's The Right Thing To Do? Description
Justice: What's The Right Thing To Do? is a television series produced by Harvard University and the WGBH network. The show films lectures held by Harvard professor and author Michael Sandel, who urges his students to deconstruct ideas and theories relating to justice, equality, democracy, and citizenship. The classes are intended to increase the student's knowledge of philosophy and moral ethics by introducing them to some of the greatest philosophers - Aristotle, Kant, Mill, Locke - and by testing what they have theorized. After the students are introduced to these long-term beliefs, Michael puts their critical thinking skills to the test by creating hypothetical moral dilemmas and asking them what they think is the right thing to do given the situation. Students are encouraged to stand up and voice their opinions, which usually results in a larger debate including the entire class. The show is both fun to watch and educational and is a must see for anyone who enjoys a little intellectual stimulation.MORE
