John Oliver’s New York Stand Up Show is a comedy show from Comedy Central, hosted by John Oliver, correspondent and Emmy Award-winning writer for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Oliver, who has also won myriad other awards from the world of comedy, presents both well-established and up-and-coming comics as they take the stage to present new material and keep the crowd in stitches. The Daily Show star takes his fake air of arrogance and Brit-living-in-America perspective from Jon Stewart’s set and gets a chance to shine as the solo host of the special. Oliver opens each of the episodes with a small routine, then introduces four stand-up guests over the course of the hour-long show. Some of the featured comics include Pete Holmes, Janeane Garofalo, Eugene Mirman, Maria Bamford, Brian Posehn, Nick Kroll, Greg Fitzsimmons, and many more.
