Jockeys was a sports reality show that aired on Animal Planet for two seasons. A season would follow the professional lives of real jockeys and their horses. There were 9 to 10 contenders in both seasons, each one vying to win the stakes and achieve fame and glory at the thirty-day Oak Tree meet at the Santa Anita Racetrack in Los Angeles, California. The tagline for each season was 'win or die trying' and 'to win it all, you have to risk it all' respectively. Jockeys gives the viewer a glimpse into the competitive, all or nothing nature of horse racing. The series also gives the unfamiliar viewer a chance to learn about this ancient sport. As in any sport, winning takes grit, determination, heart, and luck. The difference in racing is that Jockey and horse are a team. The bond between these two teammates may ultimately decide who goes to the winner's circle.MORE
