Jeeves and Wooster is an award-winning comedy series from the 1990s based upon the "Jeeves" stories written by P.G. Wodehouse. The twenty-three episode series features the adventures of an English valet, Jeeves (Stephen Fry) and his employer Bertram "Bertie" Wilberforce Wooster (Hugh Laurie). The action takes place during the 1930s in England and the United States. Bertie's life consists of overbearing aunts, family obligations, attempts to push him into marriage and plenty of awkward situations that only the idle rich experience. Good-hearted, but not so bright, Bertie cheerfully plunges in to fix things and inevitably creates a bigger mess. It is up to Jeeves to untangle the mess and save the day. Jeeves remains ever proper and polite to Bertie, but somehow always manages to get his point across.
