Jakers! The Adventures of Piggley Winks

Jakers! The Adventures of Piggley Winks is an animated children's TV show. The show was so successful it has been translated into many different languages and is broadcast in countries worldwide. The show aired from 2003 to 2008 and is 30 minutes in length. Jakers! is essentially about the adventures of Piggley Winks, an anthropomorphic pig. Piggley's story is told using two different time periods. In the first, which is present day, Piggley is a grandfather. As a grandfather, Piggley sits his three grandchildren down and tells stories of his childhood as a young pig growing up in the 1950's. Piggley often tells stories of problems he encountered as a boy, and what he did to overcome them. The second time period takes place in the past, during the 1950's, when Piggley was a young boy. Each episode culminates in a fable or moral lesson. Jakers! is a widely-acclaimed television show for children and as such, has received six Emmy Awards along with several other awards. MORE
