Jacob & Joshua: Nemesis Rising

Jacob & Joshua: Nemesis Rising, from the LGBT-oriented network LOGO, is a reality show that follows a pair of gay identical twins, the titular Jacob & Joshua Miller, as they try to gain popularity and fame for their pop music duo, Nemesis. The show follows the general difficulties of making it as an up-and-coming band as well as the problems they face being gay in a homophobic society, and the intersections of the two. Living in Los Angeles during the show, the pair were raised in small-town Montana in the conservative Jehovah's Witnesses faith, and two episodes of the show deal with them coming out to their religious family. The show also deals with their promotion both in LGBT-oriented and general interest media. It illustrates the perception and reality of being gay in pop culture, media, and pop music. In the finale, they perform for both the Human Rights Campaign and MTV's Total Request Live. The show aired in late 2006 and is seven episodes long, along with an online-only clip show retrospective eighth episode. MORE
