InuYasha

InuYasha is an anime series based on Rumiko Takahashi’s manga series “InuYasha, a Feudal Fairy Tale.” Kagome is a high-schooler who doesn’t believe in her grandfather’s myths and legends, and doesn’t understand why he keeps a shrine to them. Then, one day, she falls down the shrine’s well and is transported to ancient Japan. There, she meets Inuyasha, a half-demon trying desperately to find the shards of the Shikon Jewel. The Shikon Jewel is extremely powerful. Inuyasha must keep the jewel, even the shards out of the hands of evildoers, especially the deadly Naraku, Inuyasha’s rival. The show premiered on Japan’s Animax network in late 2000 and ran for 167 episodes. In the United States, a dubbed version aired on Cartoon Network’s adult swim programming block from 2002 to 2006. Four feature length anime films were created due to Inuyasha’s popularity. Each features a storyline independent of the series’ plot. MORE
