Inspector Gadget: Original Series

Inspector Gadget: Original Series is a cartoon show about a Clouseau-esque detective with an almost infinite amount of bionic gadgets at his disposal. "Gadget" travels around the world, attempting to defeat the agents of M.A.D., a nefarious organization headed by Dr. Claw, a monstrous figure whose face is never shown. Stowing away on all his mission are Gadget's niece, Penny, and her Dog, Brain. Unbeknownst to her uncle, Penny does all the real detective work and Brain is her muscle. By the end of an episode, Penny and Brain have caught the culprit, and Gadget shows up just in time to get the credit, even though he had no idea what was going on the whole time. Penny and Brain, happy to save the world without credit, always share a laugh at their oafish uncle, who's world would crumble if they ever left. The show ran from 1983 to 1986 originally, but aired in syndication for another 15 years afterward. MORE
