Hot in Cleveland

Hot in Cleveland is an American sitcom on TV Land, starring Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, Wendie Malick, and Betty White. Bertinelli is Melanie Moretti, an entertainment writer and mother of college-age kids. Leeves is Joy Scroggs, the “Eyebrow Queen of Hollywood.” Malick is Victoria Chase, a recently unemployed soap star with more ex-husbands than audition possibilities. The three are all washed-up forty-something-year-olds and friends from Los Angeles. They have all passed their expiration dates in LA’s youth obsessed, weight-obsessed entertainment industry, but when their Paris-bound plane lands in Cleveland, Ohio, they find a welcoming community where they are still hot stuff. So, pleased that the locals think they are glamorous, they decide to stay. One of them leases a home with a sassy caretaker, Elka Ostrovsky (Betty White), whose witty comments were such a hit that although producers had originally intended the part as a guest role, Ostrovsky was written in as a regular character.
