Home Movies is a cartoon show that ran for four seasons, first on UPN, then on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. Brendon Small stars as a character named Brendon Small, a precocious young man with a love of cinema. He’s constantly making films (“Video Films”, as his “friend” Fenton would say) with the help of his two best friends, Jason (H. Jon Benjamin) and Melissa (Melissa Bardin Galsky). When the trio isn’t in production, they’re usually on the soccer field, not paying attention to the game, and getting life advice from Couch McGuirk (H. Jon Benjamin), who is often considered one of the greatest and most important cartoon characters of all time. Home Movies, produced by Boston-area animation studio Soup2Nuts, premiered on UPN in 1999 and was cancelled after only one season. Adult Swim picked the show up almost immediately, and it became the first show to air on the programming block. MORE
