Hey Dude

Hey Dude is an American comedy series that aired on Nickelodeon from 1989-1991. Set on the fictional Bar None Dude Ranch in Arizona, Hey Dude follows the lives of Mr. Ernst (David Brisbin), his son Buddy(Josh Tygiel), and the summer staff of their ranch. Mr. Ernst is unsatisfied with his life as a New York City accountant, and decides to fulfill his dream of owning a ranch out west. He uproots his son Buddy and together they move to Arizona to become the proprietors of Bar None Dude Ranch. Upon arrival they are introduced to the ranch hand, Lucy (Debra Kalman), and the teenage summer staff made up of Danny (Joe Torres), Brad (Kelly Brown), Melody (Christine Taylor), and Ted (David Lascher). While Danny, a local Hopi native, Melody, a kind, practical lifeguard, and Ted, an egotistical tough guy, are part of the returning seasonal staff, Bradley “Brad” Taylor is new to the ranch. Though the other ranch employees are initially put-off by Brad’s designer clothes and snotty attitude, she eventually becomes part of the team as she is a respectable horse trainer. Everyday is an adventure at Bar None, where Mr. Ernst struggles to keep everything running smoothly at the ranch while keeping his son happy and his teenage staff out of trouble.
