Heavy is the A&E docudrama that follows twenty-two individuals who are battling obesity. Each episode follows two people who are starting the fight against extreme life-threatening health issues because of their weight. Unlike other weight loss series, is it not a competition or reality show, but a real documentation of people making the journey of a six month treatment program, with the goal of saving their life. The day-to-day journey is extremely tough, with no glamorous weigh-ins or prizes along the way. These people must learn how to become active, fight their food addictions, and search within themselves to resolve the issues that got them where they are today, dangerously heavy. We meet people like Tom, a 37 year old Texan who was the star of his football team in high school, but know has fallen into depression and weights 638 pounds at 5 foot 9. Along with the weight comes disorders like sleep apnea, edema and insomnia, and he has finally realized he needs to turn his life around before it is too late. Other cases like Jodi show a family woman whose weight is keeping her from living a normal life with her husband and children. See if these people can fight through the pounds and regain a normal life on A&E's new documentary series, Heavy.MORE
