He Knew He Was Right is a TV adaptation of the eponymous novel by author Anthony Trollope, produced by the BBC. The story revolves primarily around Louis Trevelyan, a wealthy Englishman who falls in love with Emily Rowley, daughter of Mandarin Island's governor Sir Marmaduke Rowley. Impressed with Trevelyan, the Rowley family travels with him to London to see Louis and Emily get married. Their marriage begins pleasantly, as much as one would hope. Soon thereafter they have a baby boy and begin to start a family. Tensions begin to rise, however, as a family friend, Colonel Osborne, begins to visit Emily frequently...too frequently for Louis's liking. In a fit of rage, Louis prohibits Emily to not see Colonel Osborne, setting her off into her own anger at Louis's lack of trust of her. Because of this, they begin to become distant from each other and eventually separate. The TV adaptation of He Knew He Was Right was directed by Tom Vaughan and originally aired in 2004.MORE
