They couple looks typical, but they operate as amateur detectives in their free time, following the trail of cases of smuggling, theft, espionage, and murder. The amateur sleuths put their lives in danger to solve the crimes, while juggling their professional and personal lives. The show was created by novelist Sidney Sheldon, and though it was met with mixed reviews when it premiered, the Harts became household names and the show became a hit.
