Gurren Lagann is an animated action adventure TV series developed by Gainax that takes place in a future where humans have been forced to live beneath the Earth's surface in isolated villages because of terrorizing mechas known as Gunmen, controlled by the Human Eradication Army of the Beastmen. For fourteen-year-old orphans Simon and Kamina, their only desire in their village of Giha had been to reach the surface even as they are forced to dig deeper into the earth to save their fellow villagers. When Simon discovers a drill key to an unmanned Gunman, he and Kamina make their way to the surface only to discover a major war going on the surface. With his Gunmen called Lagann and Kamina's named Gurren, the two join forces with fellow underground dweller Yoko, Kittan and Rossiu to create the Dai Gurren to fight against the Beastmen and beings known as Anti-Spirals who are set against growth and evolution.MORE
