Globe Trekker

Globe Trekker is the travel and adventure tourism series produced by Pilot Productions. The British series began airing in 1994, and is inspired by the Lonely Planet travel books series. The show takes a host, called a traveller, and a camera crew to a usually exotic country, where they take on the sights, sounds, a culture of the country. Going beyond the popular tourist destinations, the show gives viewers an in-depth look at the real culture of the country, experiencing the food, beaches, shopping, festivals and more. The hosts give an authentic look, participating in the life of the region, addressing the viewer as a tourist and tour guide, interacting with locals and giving facts as they travel. The shows have covered the globe, visiting places like Cambodia, Nepal, Pakistan, Cameroon, Mozambique, Kenya, Antarctica, Russia, New Zealand, and many many more.
