Gigantor is a 1964 American adaptation of a 1956 Japanese anime originally called Tetsujin 28-go. Set in the year 2000, the show focuses on 12 year old Little Jimmy Sparks, the controller of Gigantor the giant robot. Gigantor has no intelligence of his own and is controlled by a remote control device. Gigantor also possesses super strength and the ability to fly. Jimmy Sparks' father originally built Gigantor to be a weapon, but has since transformed him into a peace keeping machine. Jimmy Sparks lives with his uncle, Dr. Bob Brilliant and leads Gigantor in a fight against crime. Villains like Dubble Trubble, The Spider, and Dr. Katzmeow would often show up to try and steal Gigantor for their own nefarious uses.
