Ghost Stories was a FOX Family television show narrated by Rip Torn and was meant to be a Twilight Zone-ish show for a new generation but with an emphasis on horror. It ran from 1997 to 1998 culminating with 44 episodes that have since been released on to DVD with Blu-ray discs still forthcoming. The first episode "Back Ward" deals with a haunted mental institution and a psychiatrist who must deal with its evil past. The other 43 episodes share the same ideals thematically all the way up to the 44th episode of the second season called "I Heard You Call My Name" in which a teacher feels she is haunted by her son as a ghost from beyond the grave. Rip Torn personalized every episode with a chilling narration about haunting and the reality of ghosts. Rip Torn gave the audience a ghost story that was both scary yet familiar.MORE
