Galapagos is a British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) nature documentary that explores the island's savage, albeit extraordinary history. Once labeled a hellish place -- absent of water but full of dangerous wildlife -- by its earliest inhabitants, Galapagos has evolved over the years as the population continued to grow. Galapagos explores the roots of the volcanic island, how the island's climate adapted over the years, and how the island plays a role in the evolutionary theory. Charles Darwin notably studied many of the island's endemic species, which contributed to his theory of evolution by natural selection. The documentary also features much of the wild life including the marine iguanas, Galapagos tortoise, flightless cormorants, Galapagos finches, blue-footed boobies, and the Galapagos land iguanas. Narrated by Academy Award winning actress Tilda Swinton, the series is presented in three 50 minute episodes. Each episode is a visual feast as it captures the island's breathtaking beauty through award-winning cinematography.MORE
