Gaiking

Gaiking is a Japanese anime series from Toei Animation that tells the exciting story of humanity's desperate attempts to fend off an alien invasion, as a powerful and gigantic robot piloted by a retired sports star protects the innocent by repelling the aggressive alien attacks. The Dark Horror Army hails from the planet Zela, a distant world that is on the brink of destruction. A black hole is threatening to devour the planet, causing many of the aliens to experience gross mutations. In a last-ditch effort to save themselves, alien warriors under the command of the fearsome Prince Darius fly to Earth, where they attempt to eradicate the human population and establish a new colony for their people. However regretful their planet's destruction may be, humanity is unwilling to give up their home for these imposing spacemen. Earth's greatest weapon is a fleet of mecha, or giant robots, that can stand tall and face the tremendous odds and firepower of the invading forces. Gaiking is an entertaining series and a must-see for fans of the Super Robot genre. MORE
