Fullmetal Alchemist is an animated adventure science fiction TV series directed by Seiji Mizushima based on the very popular Japanese manga series by Hiromu Arakawa, which follows Edward and Alphonse Elric as they search for a mysterious Philosopher’s Stone while fighting the inhuman creations, the Homunculi, and a vengeful Scar, a man who’s people were destroyed in a war with the State Military Set in a world of alchemy, a scientific technique that allows a practitioner to create objects from raw materials, the two young brothers learn the harsh alchemic law of equal exchange when they try to bring back their dead mother – an attempt that cost Edward his arm and leg while Alphonse lost his entire body, leaving Edward to attach his soul onto a suit of armor. As the two continue their search for the stone that will make them whole again, one-by-one the enemy forces collide as the truth comes out as to just why Scar’s people needed to be killed and who created the alchemy-created Homunculi.
