Flight of the Conchords

Flight of the Conchords is a television show based on the adventures of the band of the same name, comprised of musician-comedians Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement. Bret and Jemaine emigrated from New Zealand to seek success and fortune in New York City. In New Zealand, Flight of the Conchords were the fourth most popular comedy folk duo, popular enough that they quit their former careers as shepherds and shipped off for the United States. In New York they live together in poverty, playing occasional gigs that their manager, Murray Hewitt (Rhys Darby) finds for them. Bret and Jemaine are also on a quest for love, although the overly-shy Bret and the overly-eager Jemaine rarely find long-term happiness with the women they encounter. Each episode features musical interludes, as the duo highlight important plot points with informative and hilarious songs. These songs include the hits "Business Time," "I'm Not Crying," and "Hiphopopotamus Vs Rhymenocerous." Flight of the Conchords aired for two successful seasons, and the band has released three albums containing music from the series. MORE
