Falcon Crest is the long running, primetime soap opera from creator Earl Hamner. The series follows two rival families against the backdrop of the California wine industry. Angela Channing (Jane Wyman) starred as the powerful matriarch of the Falcon Crest Winery. Corrupt, mischevious, and unpredictable, Angela stops at nothing to preserve her legacy. When Angela's brother passes away during the first episode, her noble nephew Chase Gioberti (Robert Foxworth) is introduced after learning he is the recipient of a large portion of the Falcon Crest vineyards. This conflict between Angela and Chase would become one of the central aspects of the show. Supporting characters include Angela's daughters Julie (Abby Dalton), Emma (Margaret Ladd), and her grandson Lance (Lorenzo Lamas). During its nine seasons on the air, the show frequently included veteran Hollywood stars in guest roles: Lana Turner, Cesar Romero, Robert Stack, Cliff Robertson, and Kim Novak all made notable appearances.
