F Troop

F Troop is an American sitcom that ran for 2 season on ABC from 1965 to 1967. It features the misadventures of the bumbling soldiers stationed at Fort Courage shortly after the end of the American Civil War. Led by Captain Wilton Parmenter (Ken Berry), an inept serviceman whose only interest is Wrangler Jane (Melody Patterson), the troop must keep the peace with the local Indians. The higher ups believe that this is an ongoing struggle. Little do they know that Sergeant O'Rourke (Forest Tucker) has a treaty with the Indians. They get to sell their trinkets to tourists in exchange for a cut of the profits. O'Rourke and his sidekick, Corporal Agarn (Larry Storch), operate as O'Rourke Industries, and they've always got a get rich quick scheme up their sleeves. When the higher ups come into town to check on the troop's progress, O'Rourke and the Indians stage battles, to create the illusion of conflict. The entirety of the shows 2 seasons was shot on Warner Brothers' backlot in Burbank, California. When WB was sold in 1967, the new owners decided to cancel the show, claiming it was a waste of their space. MORE
