Ergo Proxy is an animated mystery cyberpunk TV series directed by Shuko Murase that focuses on the investigations of Re-l Mayer, an Inspector for the Citizen Intelligence Bureau, and her android partner, Iggy, as they work to find out who is behind the brutal murders shattering the peace of the futuristic domed city of Romdeau. It has been years since the world around Romdeau had become an ecological disaster but with the creation of AutoReivs, or unaware androids, humans and machines lived in a stable balance without fear, even so much as to only “growing” new humans in the artificial wombs if there was a place for them within society. The peace is destroyed as AutoReivs become infected with the Cogito virus and ultimately in their new self-aware state turn homicidal. Re-l joins teams with Vincent Law in order to find out just how the Cogito virus is spreading and to what exactly a Proxy is and why the government is so interested in them.MORE
