ElimiDATE

ElimiDATE is a syndicated dating show that premiered on September 17, 2001. The series is typically shown on late-night television, and features young, single men and women who are looking for love. Each episode features a single man (or occasionally a woman) who is set up on a date with four female (or male) suitors. The man meets each of the women individually, and shares with the viewers his first impressions of his dates. The whole group embarks on the first leg of their date together, and the women give their impressions of one another to the camera. Each segment of the date takes place in a different venue, generally starting with an innocent locale, such as a public park. The main contestant must eliminate one suitor each round, until he is left with one woman who is his perfect match. ElimiDATE is characterized by the often catty behavior of the contestants, the steamy hot-tub scenes at towards the end of the dates, and the manner in which suitors are dismissed. Later episodes of the show featured single seniors, high school elimiDATEers, and elimiDATE all-stars. The show aired for five years and frequently replays in syndication. MORE
