El Tigre : The Adventures Of Manny Rivera

El Tigre is an animated action-comedy TV series produced by Nickelodeon follows the adventures of thirteen-year-old Manny Rivera as he tries to decide whether to use his superpowers for good or evil in Miracle City as the masked fighter, El Tigre. It is not easy being super anything but Manny feels the pressure to choose a path since he comes from a long line of supers. His father, Rodolfo, is the legendary hero White Pantera and his grandfather, Granpapi Rivera, is the evil super villain Puma Loco. The friendly and outgoing Manny would love to be just like his dad but it’s kind of hard to not fall to the dark side when it’s a lot more fun. What also doesn’t help is the mischief his best friend Frida pulls him into, though she does help him fight crime and super villains, like Santana of the Dead, one of the most dangerous, most devious, and oldest criminals around, and Señor Siniestro, a cowboy-wannabe thirteen-year-old Italian transfer student. It was bad when Siniestro tried to get Manny expelled but it was even worse when he almost had to call Santana Grandma. El Tigre is an interesting and entertaining show, created by husband-and-wife team of Jorge R. Gutierrez and Sandra Equihua, which blends the superhero theme with Mexican-folk inspirations. MORE
